Boston Celtics: 4 free agents to consider should league expand rosters

Boston Celtics target No. 3) Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
The fact that Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has lasted this long without being scooped up by a franchise is quite perplexing.
No, we’re not suggesting he’s an All-Star caliber player by any stretch of the word. Still, with his experience coupled with excellent defensive versatility, there are many teams that could benefit from bringing on the 26-year-old forward.
Perhaps the Boston Celtics could reap the benefits of bringing on RHJ.
Serving as a key contributor on the second unit for the 2019 NBA Champion Toronto Raptors, Hollis-Jefferson boasts career averages of 9.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and just shy of a steal per game on 45 percent shooting from the field.
As we alluded to already, the fifth-year veteran’s most valuable quality is his defensive prowess. Standing at 6-6 with an impressive 7-2 wingspan and underrated quickness, Hollis-Jefferson can seemingly guard any team’s best player from the one spot all the way down to a four and, on some occasions, can matchup nicely in sporadic action against small-ball fives.
Being that the Cs currently rank 19th in opponents’ field-goal percentage and 14th in defensive rating, it’s evident they could stand for some improvements on that end of the floor.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson could prove to be that improvement.
