Boston Celtics TPE target No. 2) Davis Bertans, Washington Wizards

This past offseason, we were hoping that the Boston Celtics would try to pursue fifth-year power forward Davis Bertans on the open market and, with proper negotiation skills, convince him to join a contender on a cost-efficient deal.

Instead, however, he went the financial route — nothing wrong with that — and inked a 5-year, $80 million deal to stay with in the nation’s capital.

Through 11 games played in 2020-21, the 28-year-old is performing well, averaging 11.8 points on 36 percent shooting from deep.

Unfortunately, however, the team as a whole is off to a rock-bottom start, boasting a 3-8 record and, frankly, seem to be on the brink of imploding.

Should they opt to hold a fire-sale, the Celtics should inquire about a few of their players, such Bradley Beal and, of course, Bertans.

The Cs could use for both a floor-spacing power forward should they wish to continue running their big ball lineups.
