Conclusion

As Bleacher Report’s own article states, the power rankings are on a week-by-week basis.

Just because a team is ranked in a certain position right now doesn’t mean they’ll stay that way next week. These power rankings aren’t necessarily a projections of how the season will play out; rather, it’s a look at a team’s current body of work and how good they’ve looked in both their wins and losses.

In that case, the Boston Celtics do deserve their spot right behind the Lakers in B/R’s power rankings.

The Cs may not prove to be the second-best team in the NBA at season’s end, but right now it’s hard to argue that they aren’t one of the best teams in the league. They’re doing this without Kemba Walker playing at all, too.

Once he’s back, the Boston Celtics should only get better and have even more weapons at their disposal.

Boston is going to falter at times this season, but they also have the tools to win the majority of the games they play. Unless the Bucks, 76ers, Clippers, or another team really turns things on and can prove they’re elite the shamrocks deserve their spot atop the East right now.
