Why the Boston Celtics do it

The Cs would land Horton-Tucker just the same as the Houston 3-teamer, but instead of adding a wing in Alfonso McKinnie, they receive JaVale McGee. McGee would replace Daniel Theis in the frontcourt and can serve as an emergency body if Tristan Thompson ever gets seriously injured or if Tacko Fall’s ascension is false.

Why the Los Angeles Lakers do it

LeBron James and Cedi Osman have a very special bond, as Cleveland.com penned:

"“Every moment we had together was amazing because every day we were on the road we were talking about something different,” Osman said. As the season progressed, James started singling out Osman in postgame interviews, praising the rookie for his basketball IQ, work ethic, hustle and professional approach. “For me, every practice with him, dinner, lunch, being together was special. It was my favorite,” Osman said. “I will say I was really proud when he was talking about me to the media. What he was saying about me, all that good stuff, that was really special to me.”"

Osman is blossoming this season, so doing so in Los Angeles alongside James doesn’t seem so far off from reality given their friendship.

Why the Cleveland Cavaliers do it

The Cavaliers appear to still be mired in the depths of a rebuilding stage. They might as well add draft capital along with expiring salaries for Osman’s value.
