Cameron Thomas

Cameron Thomas is a stick of scoring dynamite that would bring an edge to the Boston Celtics bench backcourt they currently have in Payton Pritchard at the point guard position. Thomas is fearless, being unabashed about pulling up from well past the 3-point line, but he also has the athleticism and bulk to attack the rim at will.

Thomas brings a lot of the same elements that Carsen Edwards does to an offense, but at six-foot-four, he can handle himself better against the vertically blessed defenders of the NBA. He’s currently on a serious scoring tear, averaging 28.7 points per game in his last four contests, which included my Saturday matinee in Gainesville.

Colin Castleton

Colin Castleton had an extremely impressive performance under the bright lights of CBS in Florida’s thrilling 83-79 victory over LSU, scoring 21 points to go along with six rebounds and a block.

He hasn’t had the same level of success since, but at six-foot-eleven, Castleton has legitimate NBA size. Built like Brook Lopez with the game of a pre-Milwaukee Lopez that couldn’t shoot 3-pointers, Castleton can be a cheap utility big man that could make Daniel Theis expendable.

Castleton is shooting just under 70% from the field, but he needs to shoot free throws at the clip he shot them at last season when he was an 82% FT shooter.
