The Boston Celtics have been linked to several players on the internet rumored to be on the trade block. Today, the Houdini discusses 3 talents the Cs should avoid.

Through nine games played, the Boston Celtics find themselves off to a 6-3 start, good enough for fourth place in the Eastern Conference and tied for seventh-best in the entire association.

While some may have gone as far as to deem their kickoff to 2020-21 as a bit of a disappointment, as they went 3-3 during their first six outings, the Cs now find themselves on an all-out role winning three-straight and, tonight, look to be in a prime position to stretch it to four against the hapless Washington Wizards (2-6).

Still, even with this success, it has not stopped the rumor mill from churning, particularly in regard to potential deals the shamrocks can make this season in an effort to better their chances at banner No. 18.

While we here at HH are certainly not opposed to the Celtics making moves, there have been some players attached to the team that we believe would not be worth pursuing.

Here are 3 recently rumored trade-targets we believe the Boston Celtics should avoid trading for this season:

Player Boston Celtics should avoid No. 1) Harrison Barnes, SF, Sacramento Kings

A few weeks back, NBC Sports Boston writer Darren Hartwell published a piece discussing seven players the Boston Celtics could consider pursuing this season using their $28.5 million trade exception.

Citing the fact that their second-unit could use for some added scoring weapons and, being that he has averaged at least 14.5 points per game over the last four seasons, he could theoretically wind up benefiting their scoring punch in a big way.

That said, while he has proven to be a sound contributor over his eight-year career, in regard to their historic TPE, we just strongly believe that there are “bigger fish in the sea.” By this, we mean, while he could wind up helping the team’s bench improve in the scoring department, frankly, there are other areas of need within this rotation that could still use for some filling, particularly somewhere in the big-man department (Myles Turner, John Collins, etc.)

Danny Ainge should not just use this available space so easily and, with all due respect, they could certainly do a lot better than Harrison Barnes.
