Boston Celtics: 3 Marvin Bagley-Cs trade packages
Why the Boston Celtics do it
Swapping Daniel Theis out for Marvin Bagley could be an NBA Championship-clinching move for the Boston Celtics. I full-heartedly believe that putting that sort of talent in a Brad Stevens offense is a recipe for success in Beantown.
Stevens’ offense has excelled with two big men with varied roles. Bagley could be the Al Horford to Tristan Thompson’s Amir Johnson.
Why the Sacramento Kings do it
Daniel Theis gets a tough time from Hardwood Houdini (or more specifically me) these days, but we were the ones to stage opposition against the war on Theis last season. Sacramento is far from a perfect landing spot given that they have Richaun Holmes and Hassan Whiteside.
That said, it is a perfect spot for Romeo Langford, who can spread his wings and take flight in a new offense. Given Sacramento’s timeline, a slowly developing Langford can see more time with the basketball in his hands. In Boston, he has no chance of stealing away the spotlight on the wing with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and even to a lesser extent Marcus Smart, starring now and for the next few years.
Might as well see if he can slide into the role Buddy Heild figures to vacate.
