"Boston Celtics get: James Harden, Myles Turner Houston Rockets get: Victor Oladipo, Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall, 2021 Boston Celtics first-round pick Indiana Pacers get: James Wiseman, Eric Gordon, Kelly Oubre, 2021 Golden State Warriors lottery-protected first-round pick Golden State Warriors get: Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart, P.J. Tucker, T.J. Warren, Ben McLemore"

Why the Boston Celtics do it

Not only do the Cs acquire Harden in this deal, but they also acquire Myles Turner–who the team arguably screwed up not trading Gordon Hayward for in November. The Tristan Thompson-Daniel Theis duo has proven effective early on, so sending Theis to the bench in favor of the more physical Turner could improve Boston’s chances against a bigger team like the Lakers.

Why the Houston Rockets do it

Remember, everyone: the Houston Rockets traded several first-round draft picks in the Russell Westbrook trade. Any Harden trade cannot make them uncompetitive…there’s no reason to tank.

With John Wall still in tow, Victor Oladipo would be a fantastic backcourt mate. Together, they might be able to keep the Rockets afloat in an uber-competitive Western Conference.

Andrew Wiggins and Eric Paschall would help work towards that, and snagging the Cs first-round pick would be a nice way to add to a depleted draft cupboard.

Why the Indiana Pacers do it

Indiana loses the second and third best players in this deal, but add the player with the highest upside in James Wiseman. Alongside Domantas Sabonis, Wiseman could give the Pacers the best big-man combo in the league in a few years’ time.

Eric Gordon and Kelly Oubre would help improve the second unit and help replace the scoring lost with the departure of T.J. Warren.

Why the Golden State Warriors do it

The Warriors would be bringing on a legitimate starting five in this deal, but the key is finding which combinations work well around Steph Curry. Having the option of bringing Marcus Smart or T.J. Warren off the bench is an enticing one, especially when Klay Thompson is healthy.

This deal fixes their depth issue and brings on a plethora of shooting.
