IT’SSSSSSSSSSSSSS TIMEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
How to watch
The Cs take on the Milwaukee Bucks in a fanless TD Garden arena at 7:30 ET. TNT will play host to the affair, which is not good news for FuboTV subscribers.
The Houdini’s final thoughts
I’ve said it before, but I’m straight up nervous about tonight. The Milwaukee Bucks are motivated after trading for Jrue Holiday and re-signing Giannis Antetokounmpo to the supermax, but things are not yet steady in the Cream City.
Holiday could easily look for greener pastures next summer if this experiment falls short in the playoffs. Antetokounmpo is likely more than satisfied being a one-and-done professional with the only team he’s ever known, but winning a title is really the only way to ensure that.
Do they need to win this season? Probably not. Holiday’s commitment was enough to get Antetokounmpo to sign on the dotted line, but this season needs to start off on a high note because speculation vultures will always circle when things aren’t harmonious.
A win on opening night on the road would be a fantastic start for the Bucks, but a loss would cause too much drama for its own good. The question is whether or not the Cs can even force that to be an issue.
The preseason early returns were not pretty. That said, it was–in fact–the preseason. Jayson Tatum can have a hot streak simultaneously with Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart can dive on the floor for fifteen loose balls and end up with all of them.
Anything can happen tonight. If you tune in at 7:30 (and follow @HoudiniCeltics on Twitter for live updates with my co-editor Mark Nilon on the keyboard), you won’t miss a minute of the action.
