Our poor friends over at Daily Knicks desperately want their team to get better, and they have enlisted the help of the Boston Celtics to help facilitate a 3-team deal.

The offseason is winding down, and the regular season is less than ten days away. Before the Boston Celtics open up the season at home (on my 27th birthday) hosting the Milwaukee Bucks, the preseason–and any last-minute deals teams may be cooking up–will have to come and go.

With the Cs suffering multiple injuries to two players that figure to be key members of the rotation (and both possibly starting when healthy) Boston figures to still monitor the phone when opposing teams call.

Brad Dressler of Daily Knicks threw out several Mitchell Robinson trade proposals for the purpose of figuring out ways to improve the team. In one, Robinson would make his way to Beantown, while three draft picks (a future first and two future seconds) and Robert Williams would find their way out of town:

"This trade benefits all teams involved. The Celtics get a major upgrade at the 5-spot, as Mitch is someone who’s making next to nothing for this season upcoming and next. The Knicks finally get their paws on arguably one of the best shooters in the league and replace Mitch with Richaun Holmes – not too much of a downgrade there in my opinion. The Kings get an expiring Julius Randle contract, a replacement at the SG spot with Frank, and Robert Williams, which would allow the Kings to start Marvin Bagley, where I think he’s best suited, which is at the center spot."

While Robinson does make a below-market value, Williams does too. The difference is that Williams cannot seem to find a way to stay on the floor. The “Time Lord” has played a combined 61 games over the past two seasons, which is the same total played in the pandemic shortened 2019-20 season.

For a late future first-round pick and multiple second-round picks that may never result in an actual NBA rotation player, that is a price worth paying.

The cute bonus is that New York Knicks fans may actually get excited for a deal to bring Buddy Heild to the Mecca and expect anything higher than a 10th place finish in the Eastern Conference.

Next. 2 Cs that can play their way into next year's rotation. dark
