Heading into the 2020-21 season, the Boston Celtics possess one of the best rosters in the NBA, with some players currently found on bargain deals.

The Boston Celtics may have lost a few key cogs from their Eastern Conference Finals run over the offseason, but they still come into the 2020-21 campaign pegged as one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and, quite frankly, the entire association.

This comes with the narrative of having two All-Stars, a borderline All-Star, and a do it all Swiss Army Man on your roster.

Now, while it is widely perceived that the Cs are one of the most cash-strapped teams currently in the NBA what with the stat of their payroll, the fact of the matter is they still have a few bargain contracts in tow that have gone reletively under the radar as we head into the new year.

Today, we present to you four Boston Celtics we believe to be on some of the biggest bargain contracts this season:

Bargain player No. 1) Aaron Nesmith — $3.4 million

First up on our list we have the likes of the C’s most recent lottery selection in Aaron Nesmith.

His inclusion on this list is based on the combination of potential and where Boston managed to nab him in the most recent NBA Draft.

During his second and final season at Vanderbilt, Nesmith caught the NCAA by storm, as he posted stellar averages of 23 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, shooting 52.2 percent from three-point range.

With these numbers and production, it appeared that the wing was well on his way to being a top-tier pick in the 2020 Draft, perhaps even cracking within the top-8. However, due to a right foot injury in early January, Nesmith’s season was pronounced finished after just 14 games, which heavily impacted his draft stock.

Having said all this, the unfortunate injury may just wind up having worked in Boston’s favor, as they were able to land what appeared to be a top-tier pick deemed by many as “the best shooter in the league” at the tail end of the lottery.

Known mainly for being an unbelievable scorer, Nesmith joins a team in much need of an offensive punch off the pine — ranked 29th in points per game (28.5), 28th in 3-point percentage (31.8), and 20th in offensive rating (53.6) last season.

With well-documented comparisons to Sacramento Kings wing, Buddy Hield — who went sixth overall in his respective draft — the potential of the former Commander being a steal selection for the Boston Celtics is very real.
