Player who could outperform expectations No. 2) Jeff Teague

Keeping up with the newly acquired Boston Celtics, Jeff Teague has a real shot to be one of the most valuable members of the team this season.

A player we had been hoping the Cs would pursue for quite some time now, the veteran point guard is a player who provides leadership, sound production off the pine and when needed to, can still be trusted to effectively run a starting unit and, in turn, produce admirably.

Through 17 starts in 2019-20, Teague averaged 12.5 points, 7.5 assists, and a steal per game on 38 percent shooting from deep.

The biggest reason why we believe the 32-year-old is a likely candidate to outperform expectations this year is because of the fact that he will get ample time on the hardwood due to both Walker’s absence for the first month of the season as well as the likely monitoring of minutes for the All-Star throughout the season in an effort to keep him healthy once the postseason hits.

Teague himself is a former All-Star who, at his peak, was one of the best floor generals in the NBA.

While some may believe him to be in the “twilight stage” of his career, of late he has still proven to be a very capable contributor in this league.

Add in the facts that he’ll be playing within the point guard whisperer Brad Stevens’ system & will be surrounded by attention grabbers like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and you have the makings for a very easy time to produce if you’re Jeff Teague.
