Move fans want Boston Celtics to make No. 3) Find an upgrade at power forward

Last, but certainly not least, we have seen Boston Celtics fans clamoring for an upgrade at the power forward spot.

The names most often associated with these tweets by fans are John Collins of the Atlanta Hawks and Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic — both of whom are rumored to be available.

Both of these players have been mentioned as trade targets in the past by us at HH and, while some of the pieces we’ve discussed as trade chips are now gone, it doesn’t mean that it would be impossible for the Cs to land one of these aforementioned ballers — just a little… a lot harder.

Both Collins and Gordon would be fantastic additions to this current nucleus in Boston, and Collins specifically could thrive within the rotation when used as a small-ball center.

On the season, the 24-year-old posted career-high averages of 21.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game on 58 percent shooting from the floor and 40 percent shooting from deep. Due to discussions on contract extensions reportedly being far apart between Collins and the Hawks, it has been rumored that a trade could be possible if the franchise grew to believe they could lose the big man for nothing in free agency in 2021.

As for Gordon — who has reportedly been inquired about by numerous teams over the past few weeks –, he is coming off of a 2019-20 season where he averaged 14.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists on 44 percent shooting from the floor.

While it’s a long shot that either one of these players ends up in green and white come next season, as the article’s title has already established, this idea is just something the fans have voiced their interest in.
