Free-agent destination for Gordon Hayward No. 5) Indiana Pacers

Of course, the most popular landing spot for Gordon Hayward is his hometown team, the Indiana Pacers. For months now, we have been peddling the narrative that the Boston Celtics should look into a trade involving Hayward with the Pacers for the likes of someone like Myles Turner.

If Hayward, and his wife for that matter, would wish to return “home”, they’d likely need the forward to accept a sign-and-trade of some sorts, for Indiana is over the cap. This concept is still very much alive, for earlier this month it was reported by CBS Sports writer, Michael Kaskey-Blomain, that the Pacers are very much interested in the idea of a homecoming as well:

"Something to keep an eye on once we find out when NBA teams can start making trades: some within the Pacers organization continue to have interest in trading for Celtics’ Gordon Hayward, per SNY sources. It’s unknown what Boston would want in return for Hayward — or if the club is even open to moving him."

The aforementioned swap between Hayward and Turner is one many have speculated over the past several weeks, and we keep pushing the narrative as well, as it could wind up benefiting all parties involved.
