Boston Celtics trade No. 3) A swap of picks with the Washington Wizards

Like the trade proposal we mentioned in the previous slide with the New York Knicks, this is not our first time discussing the idea of a trade involving picks between the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards.

Frankly, the concept of trading their 9th overall selection in this year’s draft makes a lot of sense for the D.C. squad.

With the fact that they are expected to finally have a healthy John Wall to join the league’s second-leading scorer from 2019-20 in Bradley Beal, the team could be in-line for a return to the postseason for the first time in two years.

Unfortunately, outside of these 2 studs the team has various holes within their roster that could use for some filling. While having a top-10 pick is nice, should they be presented with the opportunity to acquire numerous selections in this year’s draft, while still possessing the rights to a lottery pick, it could prove to be a cost-efficient way to better fill out the roster which, in turn, could make a return to the playoffs easier to come by in 2020-21.

On the flip side, Boston would better position themselves to land one of their rumored top-billed draft targets, such as Okoro or Onyeka Okongwu.
