The NBA’s perennial scoring king appears likely to head to the Brooklyn Nets. Here are 3 deals where the Boston Celtics can also nab some assets in a deal.

The tea leaves have been there for a while that the Houston Rockets would be rebuilding this offseason, but that began in earnest when the team traded Robert Covington to the Portland Trailblazers for Trevor Ariza and a first-round pick. Of course, you know the Houdini is thinking of the next step for not only Houston, but of our beloved Boston Celtics as well.

I’ve written several pieces this offseason sending James Harden out of H-Town, but it appears fairly definitive now that the Brooklyn Nets are likely to be his next home, no matter how hard Houston tries to retain him:

"According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets offered Harden a two-year, $103 million extension in addition to the $132.9 million he’s owed over the next three seasons. However, the eight-time All-Star rebuffed Houston and “made it clear to ownership that he’s singularly focused on a trade to the Brooklyn Nets.”"

Apparently, according to Wojnarowski, a deal may take a while:

"“So far, Harden’s determination to get to Brooklyn has resulted in no progress toward that end. Houston and Brooklyn have been in contact, but so far have engaged in no meaningful dialogue, sources said. The Rockets want a massive return of assets for Harden, and are willing to be patient to find that in the marketplace. So far, there’s no indication that the Rockets believe the Nets could deliver a package that fits that profile.”"

With that in mind and with time to get a deal done, here are 2 ways the Cs can help get Harden to his likely new home:
