Should Gordon Hayward opt-out of the final year of his contract, the Boston Celtics should consider making a few moves to fill his vacancy.

As the offseason has rolled along over these past several weeks, Boston Celtics fans have been keeping a close eye on their phone screens and computer monitors, as their favorite franchise’s name has constantly found itself intertwined with the latest buzz across the league.

One of the biggest surprises thus far into this in-between season period has been the report that veteran forward Gordon Hayward might be leaning towards opting out of the final year of his 4-year, $127 million contract with the franchise.

This comes along with other widely spread rumors that the C’s front office could be interested in dealing him this offseason, and specific reports have been that an exchange of Hayward for Indiana Pacers center, Myles Turner, is something worth considering

No matter which buzz you choose to listen to, it appears on think can be agreed upon: the former All-Star’s days in Beantown seem to be numbered.

If he winds up leaving one way or another, it would create a hole within Boston’s rotation that will need filling.
