Boston Celtics: 3 ring chasing free agents Cs could pursue

Ring casher the Boston Celtics could pursue No. 3) DeMarcus Cousins
Having signed contracts with both the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers, respectively, over the past two seasons it’s already evident that DeMarcus Cousins can be considered a ring chaser at this point in his career.
Suffering through two major injuries whilst under contract with both franchises and not having yet attained that highly coveted championship — waived by LA in February and, in turn, was not apart of their Finals run –, it would appear that the 30-year-old is still in the same boat he was during the last offseason, where he signed with the Lakers on a one-year, $3.5 million deal.
At his best, the big man known as “Boogie” is arguably the top center in the entire league. During the last season where he came in fully-healthy (2017-18 with the New Orleans Pelicans) the 6-10, 270-pound behemoth put up amazing stat-sheet stuffing averages of 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor and 35 percent shooting from deep.
Heck, even if he’s at half of what he was during his prime, like when he was with the Warriors, he still has the ability to put up 15+ points, 8+ boards, and over a block per game while possessing an impressive ability to space the floor (only shot less than 35 percent from deep once over the last five years of playing).
Signing him to a contract similar to what Los Angeles brought him in for during the summer of 2019 could prove to be an absolute steal for the Boston Celtics if Cousins can finally reclaim his health.
Due to his recent bouts with the injury bug, it’s safe to say that a union such as this could be relatively risky. That said, should they nab him for what LA paid, the risk-reward needle would easily be tilting in favor of reward.
