The Boston Celtics could use their first-round picks in a trade to acquire some veteran talents to better position themselves for a run at glory.
Seemingly as soon as the end of the 2019-20 season came to its end, the Boston Celtics have found themselves intertwined in the NBA’s offseason rumor-circuit.
Despite finishing the year with the fifth-best record in the association and making it to just within two games of reaching their first NBA Finals in over a decade, it’s evident that the shamrocks must make improvements this offseason if they wish to thrust themselves over the hump that has halted them over the past several seasons.
The rumor-mill has been spinning in regard to many verticals of offseason endeavors, such as free agency, trades, and, most notably, the upcoming NBA Draft where the Cs hold the rights to 3 first-round picks (Nos. 14, 26, & 30).
While many organizations around the league would love to possess the draft capital in which Boston holds, according to a recent article by ESPN’s Zach Lowe, Danny Ainge has reportedly been looking to potentially utilize the team’s picks in an effort to acquire a veteran talent to add a ‘solid veteran’ to the roster.
While reports are also out there than the Celtics are interested in potentially moving up in the NBA Draft as well, the Houdini finds this news more worthy of consideration, as the addition of a savvy vet could make all the difference between an early exit in the postseason and a realistic run at an NBA Championship.
