The Boston Celtics could combine their own pursuit of a Gordon Hayward deal with the New Orleans Pelicans’ desire to trade Jrue Holiday with the end result being a multi-team blockbuster.

Yesterday was a hot day for news and rumors across every vertical. The Boston Celtics, of course, appear to have an impending free agent with a wandering eye in the form of Gordon Hayward. In other basketball-related news, Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday is openly being discussed in deals by New Orleans:

In all seriousness, the Houdini knows that while the 2020 United States Presidential election was one of the most important of all of our lifetimes, at some point the coverage can be smothering.

No one needs to shut up and dribble, and no one covering this sport needs to stick to sports. But we’re down to take a breather from all of the political talk and dive-deep into these two rumors.

The Hayward rumor is one we have seen coming since he failed to catch on with the franchise he committed to on a four-year deal in his first three seasons in green and white. The Holiday rumor is not all surprising given the presence of Lonzo Ball as the lead guard in the offense–with Brandon Ingram and even Zion Williamson good for some facilitation.
