Shooter the Boston Celtics should target at No. 26) Desmond Bane, SG, TCU
Next up, we have the rare 4-year star in TCU guard Desmond Bane.
Upping virtually every stat during his long collegiate career, the 22-year-old found himself posting perhaps his best all-around season during his final year with the Horned Frogs.
Despite having an opposing team’s defensive scheme mainly revolve around him whilst serving as the main option for his squad, the Indiana-native posted impressive averages of 16.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game on 45 percent shooting from the floor and 44 percent shooting from downtown.
He led the Big 12 with 2.9 3-pointers made per game in 2019-20 and ended his career at the university ranking third all-time in scoring (1,784), third in field goals made (659), first in 3-pointers made (249), and fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (43.3).
Clocking in ranked amongst the 96th percentile in half-court opportunities, Bane proved capable of serving as both a long-range sniper and a crafty creator when putting the ball on the floor.
At 26th overall, should the Boston Celtics still be looking for that nifty scoring punch off the pine, the All-BIG 12 First Team talent could prove to be a great grab.
