In this special Halloween piece, we discuss 3 scary offseason targets the Boston Celtics should avoid at all costs.

It’s Halloween, and Hardwood Houdini wants to treat you, the Boston Celtics fanbase, to some more sweets in the shape of ideas pertaining to each potential transaction wire vertical.

The shamrocks will be adding new players to the roster via the NBA Draft, free agency, and, very likely, offseason trades.

So, what exactly are Boston’s goals?

For starters, the draft must be seen as a way to add on cost-efficient talents to strengthen their several weak areas within the rotation.

The next domino to fall, of course, will be free agency, where the team can utilize their mid-level exception and veteran minimum contracts to bring on already-established ballers to help position themselves for a run at glory come 2020-21.

Finally, offseason deals could provide the Cs with the value of which they likely will not be able to attain in verticals number one or two.

In all of these areas, there are obviously a few specific targets in which a front office will have on their watch. In any effort to separate the ghouls and ghosts from the rest of the bunch, a team’s decision-makers must do their due diligence of game planning and chart out all the different routes they could possibly take.

Of course, this includes writing off players that they believe are not worthy of pursuing.
