Isaiah Thomas’ cryptic tweets continued Monday night as he hinted at interest in a potential return to the Boston Celtics…a recent trend this offseason.

Another day (or late night), another tweet from Isaiah Thomas that seems to point in the direction of a desire to return to the team he became an MVP candidate on. The Boston Celtics showed up on the point guard’s social media account when the 2017 fifth-place MVP finisher responded to a highlight video of his unforgettable run in green and white:

The confidence Thomas still exudes despite facing such a rough road following his Boston departure is laudable, and that he can enjoy the fruits of his labor from one of the greatest individual seasons from a personal sacrifice standpoint.

Let us never forget the tragedy Thomas overcame in the playoffs. Losing a sibling is unthinkable…particularly in the midst of the most important stretch of basketball in your professional career.

Thomas rose to the occasion in ways few can, and just because he has yet to regain the form he had in 2016-17, doesn’t mean he can’t redeem his career at just 31-years-old.

Certain teams have been named as a potential suitor for his return, including the Golden State Warriors, in the past. Not only that, coming off the bench is a role the 5-foot-9 messiah seems willing to embrace.

Clearly, Thomas believes the fun times could continue. Given the love Boston has always had for IT, and vice versa, it is easy to assume his goal is to have that once again be in a Celtics uniform. Will the marathon runner circle back around to the finish line in the place he once called home?

Only time will tell. Stay tuned folks!
