Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks underperformed worse than any other team in the entire association during the 2019-20 postseason, and it may not necessarily be close. Seen as one of the three truly elite teams in the league, Milwaukee couldn’t even make it out of the Eastern Conference’s second round.

Losing to the Miami Heat stings less given their NBA Finals appearance, but that they couldn’t take more than a single game from the eventual Eastern Conference champions shows that the team is not built for sustained postseason success.

That could be an issue with the team’s general makeup. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a clear superstar and top dog, but behind him, there is far more uncertainty than there should be given the paychecks Bucks owner Wes Edens cuts to this group.

Barring a major offseason trade, the only way the Bucks could tangibly improve is to get younger and more athletic. While the 28-year-old pivot known more for his post moves than his putback slams may not be the first name you’d think of to achieve that, Kanter could definitely provide value for a Bucks bench that currently relies on Ersan Ilyasova, Robin Lopez, and D.J. White to soak up the primary backup minutes at the center spot.
