Boston Celtics: 3 teams that could be interested in trading for Hayward

Team that could be interested in Gordon Hayward No. 1) Dallas Mavericks
Though we may live in the era of dynamic-duos there are a few teams that are seemingly on the brink of the old “big-three” fad.
The Dallas Mavericks are certainly one of those teams.
Leading the way for this ball club is second-year phenom Luka Doncic who, by all accounts, looks to be a perennial MVP candidate moving forward throughout his career. Averaging a stellar 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and a steal per game the Slovanian-born All-Star managed to guide Dallas to their first postseason appearance in four seasons and gave the heavily-favored Los Angeles Clippers a run for their money, forcing their way to six games in the series.
While we can sit here all day and praise the greatness that is Doncic, he did not guide the Mavericks to such great heights alone. In his first season with the franchise, Kristaps Porzingis played the perfect Robin to Luka’s Batman.
Through 57 games played, the 7-2 “unicorn” posted 20.4 points, 9.5 rebounds, and two blocks per game on 43 percent shooting from the floor and 35 percent shooting from deep. These two are destined to achieve great things individually should they stay together long-term. Unfortunately, it would appear that, if the team collectively wishes to achieve the heights they believe they can with these two studs leading the way, they’ll likely need to add more firepower around them.
Here’s where Gordon Hayward and the Boston Celtics can come into play.
Adding a veteran presence who has an impressive all-around offensive skill-set and experience leading a team on his own would be a solid piece to slide in as a third option in the starting rotation alongside Doncic and Porzingis.
Be it utilizing him as a floor-spacer, a facilitator, or a shot creator adding a healthy Hayward to this already immaculate offense would only work wonders for the franchise.
