Boston Celtics: 3 ways Cs can break Lakers tie for banner No. 18

No. 1) Win draft night
For the fifth time in nine seasons, the Boston Celtics find themselves in possession of a plethora of draft capital. Holding the rights to 3 selections in this upcoming draft, Beantown has the ability to fill out their roster in a cost-efficient manner, addressing areas in which many would consider “weak spots” — second-unit scoring, talent pool at center, etc.
We here at the Houdini have pointed out several players that should be on Danny Ainge’s radar in regard to their 14th, 26th, and 30th overall picks, including the likes of Vanderbilt’s Aaron Nesmith, Villanova’s Saddiq Bey, and my personal favorite choice for the shamrocks, Maryland’s Jalen Smith.
That said, keeping the picks in tow is not the only way in which the Cs could walk away from the night as “winners.”
From trading up in the draft in an effort to attain a better selection to consolidating their capital in a deal with another team to try and bring aboard already established players, there are many routes Boston could take to help strengthen their roster for a shot at glory as soon as 2021.
If they don’t feel strongly about any particular player that’ll likely be available when they’re on the clock, they should seriously consider exchanging their picks for a player, or players, in which they feel more confident in.
