The Los Angeles Lakers have tied the Boston Celtics for the most NBA Championships won by a single franchise. There are ways in which the Cs could re-take this moniker.

The Boston Celtics may not be able to hold the label of “winningest NBA franchise” now that the Los Angeles Lakers have tied them with 17 titles, but that’s not to say they can’t make their way back to the top with a few swift maneuvers.

In just two impactful offseasons that saw All-World talent LeBron James sign with the franchise in 2018 and Anthony Davis being traded in a mega-deal during the summer of 2019, L.A. went from an eight-year-long playoff drought to NBA Champions.

Being that the majority of their current core is signed on for the next several seasons, and, assuming Anthony Davis re-ups with the franchise this offseason, the Lakers are destined to remain in the championship-favorites category for years to come.

With all of this in mind, it’s a reminder that, should you have the right decision-makers in place, a franchise can find it’s way back to the top quicker than you can say “Title Town.”

Being that they just made it to Game 6 of this year’s Eastern Conference Finals, it would appear that the shamrocks themselves are not too far off from breaking their 12-year championship hiatus and, in turn, thrusting themselves back into the record books with the most banners by any individual organization.

It may take a few savvy moves, but Boston is closer to glory than most people may think. With this in mind, here are 5 ways in which the franchise can position themselves to solely reclaim the all-time NBA Championships lead over the Los Angeles Lakers.
