The Boston Celtics could use for some immediate help come next season to strengthen their rotation. There are 3 draft prospects in particular who could make an impact from day one.
Once again the Boston Celtics find themselves coming into this year’s NBA Draft flush with value despite seeing ample success during the regular season and, obviously, the postseason.
Thanks in large to President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Danny Ainge‘s savvy negotiation skills, despite making it all the way to Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals the shamrocks hold the rights to a lottery selection courtesy of the Memphis Grizzlies (pick No. 14).
After this, they then hold the rights to two more first-rounders — their own at No. 26 and the Milwaukee Bucks’ pick at No. 30. With this, the team is in a great position to add some talented young ballers to their roster in an effort to better position themselves for a run at glory come 2020-21.
Despite the success in which we previously alluded to, Boston finds themselves coming into this offseason with many holes within their roster that need filling. While in recent years they’ve been able to utilize the free agency market to bring aboard some needed assets, this time around they’ll be strapped for cash and, in all likelihood, will not find many bites from the top-billed players on the open market because of this fact.
Having said that, there are still ways in which the Cs can improve their talent pool come next season, and the draft will play a major factor in that.
Being that they hold the rights to 3 first-round selection, they have the opportunity of bringing on 3 lucky individuals to don the green & white threads and help in any way they can to bring this team to where they wish to be.
