Boston Celtics buy-low target No. 2) Paul Millsap

Paul Millsap is a name in which the Houdini has brought up many times in the past. With the Denver Nuggets’ ouster from the Western Conference Finals in five games, the veteran forward’s 3-year contract with the franchise has reached its end, making him an unrestricted free agent heading into this year’s offseason.

While Millsap has stated his love for playing in the Mile High City, he also acknowledges that the NBA is first and foremost a business.

"“At the end of the day, I love being here, but at the end of the day, it’s still a business. So, weighing both options and understanding the business of basketball. I got to make a decision based, you know, for myself and my family.”"

Through 51 games played this season, the four-time All-Star managed to put up solid averages of 11.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game on 49 percent shooting from the floor and 44 percent shooting from deep (a career-best).

A massive catalyst in Denver’s incredible series comeback against the Los Angeles Clippers in round-two — especially in their closeout victory in Game 7 where he was a +19 on the day — Millsap would be an unbelievable addition to this Boston Celtics team both with his production on the hardwood and his veteran leadership off it.

In regard to his biggest reason for coming to the Nuggets in the first place back in 2017, the 14th-year-veteran said he wanted to help mold the team’s young core into the best version of themselves.

"“My main goal coming here was to help this team and organization get over the hump and help some of these younger guys develop into superstars, which they are. I feel like I’ve helped through that, and we’ll see what this summer holds.”"

Like the ’17 Nuggets, Boston, too, finds themselves with a plethora of young and talented ballers in need of a savvy vet to help them reach their fullest potential.

Millsap could prove to be the veteran leader this team has been missing.
