In their latest mock draft, Bleacher Report has the Boston Celtics bolstering their frontcourt in the upcoming NBA Draft.

With the NBA Draft rapidly approaching, copious publications and media outlets are focusing in on what the game plan could be for the Boston Celtics and all the other 29 teams in the league on this illustrious night.

With the fact that the shamrocks are in possession of 3 first-round picks for the second time in five years, they come into the event holding ample value and are ready to plug in holes within their rotation that need filling.

We here at the Houdini have shared our feelings about how the Cs should play out the night and have talked about numerous players in which they should have on their radar. other outlets such as Bleacher Report have also expressed their feelings on how Danny Ainge should go about drafting this year and, in their latest mock, saw the franchise heavily addressing their frontcourt.

In this hypothetical scenario, the Boston Celtics went on to draft two centers and a forward, with the selections and reasoning behind them going as follows:

No 14) Jalen Smith (Maryland, C, Sophomore)

"Smith would give Boston a stretch 5, but teams sound equally drawn to his defensive activity and potential versatility to block shots and switch. Boston would be an ideal landing spot where Smith can focus strictly on spot-up shooting, finishing and defending."

No. 26) Jaden McDaniels (Washington, SF/PF, Freshman)

"The Celtics can afford to remain patient with McDaniels, a skilled forward who needs time to sharpen his execution and improve his motor. A best-case outcome shows a 6’9″ combo forward with three-point range and the ability create and score off the dribble."

No. 30) Daniel Oturu (Minnesota, C, Sophomore)

"It seems unlikely the Celtics will pick at No. 30 if they’ve already drafted players at Nos. 14 and 26. Regardless, Oturu has become a first-round name to watch based on his volume production and improved skills for scoring from the post, attacking closeouts and converting spot-up threes."

For those of you who follow our draft coverage, you’d know that we’ve analyzed each one of these individual players in the past and, specifically, have fallen in love with the idea of the Celtics taking on Jalen Smith.

Likening his game to that of a young Chris Bosh, the big man has a great combination of both offensive and defensive skills that would be a welcoming sight to see at a position that wound up being their downfall this past postseason.
