Boston Celtics: 3 Pacers NOT named Victor Oladipo Cs should target
T.J. Warren
The bubble played host to a pleasant breakout from Pacer T.J. Warren. He broke out for 53 points in one of the bigger explosions of the NBA’s eight-game seeding slate. Unfortunately, his ascent was curtailed by a Miami Heat team that seemed destined to ravage through the Eastern Conference–en route to what looks like an imminent mugging by the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.
Warren averaged 20 points per game in Indy’s four-game sweep at the hands of the Heat in the Eastern Conference’s quarterfinal round. Adding him to the current Cs core would give the team an astounding four 20 point per game scorers.
To attain Warren, the idea would be to also acquire Myles Turner. He would have a much clearer objective of assimilating Tatum and Brown in Beantown after having to serve as a primary option in the bubble. With Marcus Smart having slid into a starting role, Warren could become a super-sub under Brad Stevens to best utilize his minutes on the floor.
Against opposing second units, he would retain the position of the lead dog in the offense and supply another creative outlet for isolation scoring on a team that became trigger happy from beyond the 3-point line.
