With the 2019-20 season being officially over for the Boston Celtics, the franchise now looks to the NBA Draft to make much-needed roster adjustments.

After a season filled with equal amounts of both promise and despair, the end of the road has come for the Boston Celtics. Despite our high hopes, 2019-20 will not wind up being the year in which the league’s winningest franchise adds to their illustrious collection of championship banners.

Instead, they’ll be joining the likes of us by watching the upcoming NBA Finals matchup between the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers from the comforts of their own abodes.

Though Boston’s season may officially be over a bit prematurely, it’s not to say they didn’t find ample success throughout the campaign. Attaining a record of 48-24 they found themselves finishing third in the Eastern Conference standings, fifth in the league’s overall standings, rostered two All-Stars, and saw themselves advance to their sixth straight postseason.

While fans are indeed disappointed of how things turned out, to say this year’s campaign was an overall disappointment would be an undeniable farce.

That said, even with their triumphs and feats achieved, heading into this offseason the Celtics, like virtually all other organizations, will likely look into many possible ways of making their team even better once the 2020-21 season rolls around.

This can be achieved in many different ways: coaching shakeups, free agency signings, trades, etc. Being the fact that the franchise holds the rights to 3 first-round picks this year, however, the most likely scenario is that President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge will look to the draft to address some glaring weak spots within the C’s rotation.
