Former Boston Celtics center and NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins still his point guard’s back, advocating for Rajon Rondo to be considered for the NBA Hall of Fame.
It’s always a great site for fans to see former teammates of their favorite franchise still show each other love years later. Boston Celtics fans got to enjoy that this morning when 2008 NBA Championship center Kendrick Perkins stuck up for his former point guard Rajon Rondo on ESPN’s “Get Up” morning sports chatter program:
"If [Rajon Rondo] wins this title, I think we should start putting him in the conversation of being a Hall of Famer."

Perkins then reiterated his stance on Twitter:
After the Finals we need to have that conversation about Rondo Greatness!!! Carry on...

The Houdini loves this.
The 2007-08 Boston Celtics are one of the greatest modern teams in the history of the game, combining Rondo’s savvy floor generalship, Ray Allen’s timely 3-point shooting, Paul Pierce’s overall offensive dominance, and Kevin Garnett’s leadership on the defensive end.
Regarding Big Perk’s role on that team? He was the enforcer that protected his men and sent messages to opposing teams by throwing a forearm here and there to let them know he was there.
Now, Perkins is doing that with his words. Following a brilliant 11-point, seven-assist, five-rebound performance in 22 minutes, the former Boston big man bolstered Rondo’s resume by noting he could become the first player to win a title with both the Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers.
While that in and of itself shouldn’t get you in the HOF conversation, Rondo’s long-list of stat line brilliance in the playoffs has garnered quite the intriguing case for Springfield.
What do you think Boston Celtics fans? Is Perkins correct about Rondo being a worthy of the Hall of Fame?
