Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are a team with more question marks than perhaps any other front office has this offseason. Priority #1 is going to be to figure out whether or not Christian Wood is worth investing significant salary cap space in.

After that, they will need to figure out what to do with their veterans. Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose and Luke Kennard may all make more sense on contending teams that are missing a piece than they do in the Motor City.

After it’s all said and done, Detroit’s roster could be very bare. Even if they were to have a return package ratio of 1:1 players, the Pistons will need to sign players this offseason given the current emptiness of their depth chart.

Like New York, the Pistons could stand to add additional first round picks in the hopes that they can blossom into valuable rotational contributors or promising trade bait. They possess the #7 pick, which could be used in a similar fashion to the Knicks pick for the Boston Celtics.

Detroit would of course hope that they are able to draft a Clyde Drexler or Tim Hardaway with the #14 pick, and maybe even end up with some late first round magic with the #26 pick or the #30 pick in the draft.
