The Boston Celtics will sweep the Philadelphia 76ers today. Here are 3 reasons why the Houdini is gun-ho about it.
It’s been smooth sailing for the Boston Celtics through the first three games of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Besides a brief early burst from the Sixers in game two of the series, Boston has seemed in control.
That hasn’t always been because of outstanding play by the C’s. While Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kemba Walker have all taken turns playing the hero against a Philly team missing their most dynamic playmaker in Ben Simmons, the 76ers have lost this series more than the C’s have been winning it.
Outside of Joel Embiid, points have been hard to come by. Embiid is the only Sixer to score at least 20 points in a game this series. By comparison, Boston’s trio of 20-point scorers (Tatum, Brown, Walker) has each registered multiple 20+ point games, with Tatum surpassing 30 twice.

Simply put, this has been a worst-case scenario for Brett Brown and Philadelphia. Originally a popular pick to escape the east after their free-agent haul last summer, the 76ers have had one of the most disappointing seasons of any team in the association.
