C’s key to victory No. 1) Execute fluidly, not sloppily

While live-tweeting yesterday on the Hardwood Houdini account — check us out! — I believe we summed up the entirety of last night’s game in one simple post:

Truth be told, the Boston Celtics were lucky to have scraped away with this victory. Aside from the final few minutes of regulation, the team’s execution was flat out sloppy. They shot a measly 41 percent from the field, an embarrassing 26 percent from deep, and were dominated in the rebounding department, specifically on the offensive glass where the Philadelphia 76ers managed to grab 20 whereas the Cs only came down with three.

Had it not been for Philly’s own misfortunes on the offensive side of the ball — shot a putrid 30 percent from the field and 23 percent from downtown — this series could have very easily been 2-1 heading into today’s game four.

And yes, while these aforementioned shooting numbers may have you believe Boston played great defense on the Sixers, do not be fooled — Philadelphia simply did not execute.

If the shamrocks wish to come away from today’s game with a win and, in turn, a series sweep, they themselves must execute as they did in games one and two (fluidly) instead of how they did last game (sloppily).
