Boston Celtics: 3 players to consider at pick No. 14

With it now being official that the Boston Celtics will hold the rights to the 14th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Danny Ainge has many quality talents he could consider snagging.

Despite still being in the throws on the NBA postseason and legitimately in contention for the 2020 NBA Championship, the Boston Celtics find themselves in possession of a lottery pick in this year’s draft.

However, it’s not just any lottery pick, it’s 14th overall which, based off recent and distant history, has managed to provide ample star power to whichever team has been on the clock.

Though they may roster one of the most menacing cores the league has to offer in All-Stars Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum, arguable All-Star snub Jaylen Brown, former All-Star Gordon Hayward, and the Swiss Army man Marcus Smart, there are still various holes the team should focus on filling in this upcoming offseason.

And, while they could look to the trade or free agency markets to help strengthen their weak spots in the rotation, traditionally it is one of the easiest and, frankly, cheapest to look to the draft for young and talented prospects to bolster one’s team.

Fortunately for the Cs, they’ll find themselves on the clock with three first-round talents in 2020. That said, their night will officially begin at pick number 14 where they’ll have plenty of talented youngsters to choose from.
