C’s key to victory No. 1) Continued consistency from 3-point range

Despite having a completely healthy rotation during game-one, the Boston Celtics only managed to come away from the opening night exhibition with an eight-point margin of victory. A major factor in this relatively close bout was the C’s underwhelming shooting efficiency, specifically from 3-point range.

Not capitalizing on a plethora of good looks from downtown played a significant role in their final shooting percentage of only 32 percent (10-32) from 3-point land. Missing open buckets is never a sustainable recipe for success, especially during the playoffs but, nevertheless, they managed to scrape by from the night with a ‘W’.

Game-two, however, was a completely different story from this region of the court, and it certainly showed in the final score.

From Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown to Romeo Langford and, yes, even Enes Kanter, it appeared everyone on the Cs wanted a taste of long-range glory. Boston finished the night shooting an impressive 44 percent from downtown and, in turn, wound up routing the Philadelphia 76ers by a 27 point margin of victory.

In today’s NBA teams tend to live and die on the three. In order for the Celtics to continue living lavishly, they must strive to find continued success from 3-point range.
