Key to victory No. 1) Lock in on defending Grizzlies’ two starting guards

Though the Memphis Grizzlies’ time in the Dinsey bubble has been anything but spectacular — boasting a less than envious record of 1-5 — perhaps the team’s main bright spot has been the stupendous play from their two starting guards in Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks.

Morant, who is the Houdini’s and, frankly, the majority of other NBA spectators’ favorite to take home the prestigious Rookie of the Year award has continued his sound play in the bubble, averaging 19 points, 9.3 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Brooks, the team’s third-year two-guard, who has been having a stellar year for himself as well, is also seemingly lighting it up in Orlando, averaging 19.3 points, 4.3 boards, 2.8 assists, and one steal per game on 42 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent from downtown.

With Jaren Jackson out for the season due to a torn meniscus in his left knee, it has been Memphis’ two main guards who have had to carry the load on offense which, in turn, has kept them in games.

If the Boston Celtics wish to coast to a victory tonight, they’ll need to lock in on trying to take away one of, if not both Morant and Brooks.
