Boston Celtics player on the hot seat No. 1) Brad Wanamaker

Though we’ve pushed the narrative of Brad Wanamaker needing to be replaced in the rotation for a while now, the Disney bubble is unequivocally the time in which the backup point guard needs to show up or start packing his bags.

Believe us when we say, this is no personal slight at Wanamaker, as he seems like a very likable guy. The problem is, however, a roster spot in the NBA should be earned based on talent, upside, & production, and, frankly, the guard is lacking in all three areas.

Throughout the 2019-20 campaign, the senior-citizen sophomore has put up underwhelming averages of 6.6 points, 2.5 assists, and two boards in 19.3 minutes per game.

Seeing extended action due to copious amounts of injuries throughout the year, namely Kemba Walker with his knee ailments, Wanamaker proved incapable of running Brad Stevens’ offense, as he has a deficiency in athleticism and lacks in playmaking ability, both for himself and for others.

Though proving to have a consistent shooting stroke — 43 percent from the field and 37 percent from deep — he shoots at a mere five attempt clip per game (1.4 attempts from deep).

With his shooting efficiency, it might be beneficial to the Boston Celtics’ bench is he were to find more attempts from deep during the bubble, as it could potentially help improve their 27th ranked 3-point percentage (31.6).

All in all, two years is likely all Wanamaker will wind up getting with the shamrocks. However, should he have himself a solid postseason run down in Orlando, perhaps Danny Ainge would consider keeping him around for another go.
