In the spirit of the fourth of July, the Houdini wants to produce fireworks. To be clear, we don’t mean the kind that is set off after 2 A.M. on a weeknight during quarantine. We’re thinking more of the blockbuster Boston Celtics trade variety.
Several depressing tweets in recent days have painted a bleak long-term health picture for the two highest-paid players on the roster. Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker are each dealing with soreness even after having the last few months off from active competition:

Gordon Hayward said his left foot still gets sore sometimes, adding that he thinks it's associated with the gruesome foot injury he suffered at the start of the 2017 season, his first in Boston.

With both now on the wrong side of 30, it is possible both have already experienced their best days on the court. Given the team’s success this season, it isn’t the end of the world, especially considering how efficient both have been this season.
That said, there could be complications down the road. Perhaps the team could be proactive and act before that happens.
