Boston Celtics: what a perfect offseason could look like for the Cs
By Mark Nilon
The Boston Celtics could be on their way to a perfect offseason should they accomplish three specific goals.
Through the first 64 games of the NBA season, the Boston Celtics proved themselves to be one of the best teams in the entire National Basketball Association.
Registering a record of 43-21, the shamrocks were heading into the final half of the season with a full head of steam, finding themselves third in the Eastern Conference’s standings and fifth in the entire league’s standings.
Now, despite the three-plus month COVID-19 induced hiatus, as we head back into the season that is scheduled for tip-off on July 30th, Boston is still considered to be one of the favorites to win the 2020 NBA Finals.
Frankly, with a core lineup consisting of two All-Stars in Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum, potential Most Improved Player of the Year candidate Jaylen Brown, former All-Star Gordon Hayward, the truly underrated Daniel Theis, and the Swiss Army man himself Marcus Smart it’s hard to argue against their upper echelon status.
However, though the team has performed quite well throughout the regular season and are seen as one of the top teams in the association, that doesn’t mean the front office should simply stay put with things come 2019-20’s end.
This offseason, the Boston Celtics actually have a great chance of being absolute winners if they play their cards right.
Read on to see what we believe the Celtics could do that would grant them a perfect offseason:
