Washington Wizards target: Bradley Beal

The most significant addition the Boston Celtics could make would be what would be considered a home run swing in trying to land Bradley Beal. The logistics of a deal aside, the fit in Beantown is a tantalizing one.

First of all, every single team in the NBA could use a 30+ point per game scorer. Only two teams have one in 2019-20: the Houston Rockets, who are all but carried by Harden and Russell Westbrook, and the Washington Wizards, who wouldn’t be invited back to the Orlando Bubble without Beal’s output.

Beal alongside fellow St. Louis native Jayson Tatum would be difficult to stop. Add in Kemba Walker, who like Beal, has tried and failed to carry teams by themselves. The two would share the bond of bringing their talents to a franchise that knows how to win.

The obvious downside to any deal is that Jaylen Brown would most certainly have to be included in any deal to open up the conversation. Beal is expected to garner a significant return in any trade scenario, with the Brooklyn Nets also being able to offer a 20 point per game scorer in Spencer Dinwiddie plus Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen.

Such a deal is unlikely from Ainge or the Wizards, who apparently want to keep Beal. That said, Beal is a big target and a deal isn’t impossible.
