Keep pushing folks. We are inching towards the day the Boston Celtics return as the league gets set to crown a 2020 NBA Champion in the middle of a global pandemic. So far there have been reasons to doubt the season’s resumption, but until said otherwise by the league, there will be basketball this July.

With the 30th as a target date, the world’s premier professional basketball league is returning in a state that is seeing a rise in coronavirus cases. Florida, one of the original states to open, is home to Walt Disney World, where a bubble will be formed to safely close the chapter on one of the most challenging seasons in the history of the league.

What started out as a season marred by a rift with the Chinese government has only continued to be disappointed with the death of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant along with his daughter Gianna and seven others in a tragic helicopter accident.

Hopefully, the season can end with no other disappointment and sadness. In the case that there are no other scares, and players don’t rally around Kyrie Irving‘s cries to sit out the season resumption, the Houdini wants to talk basketball.

And in terms of basketball fit, some of the top free agents on the market would be good on the C’s. While Danny Ainge likely won’t bring in an outside free agent and would more likely bring in G-League players, there’s no harm in imagining the top free agents in Celtics green.
