It’s not you, it’s me. The makeup of the Boston Celtics could be getting in the way of the rise of some of their players.
In life, we are faced with problems. Our problems don’t always have direct parallels to those faced by multi-billion dollar franchises like the Boston Celtics. that said, there is always a lesson from people being in the wrong place, even if it seems like the time is right.
For many, the most difficult realization is knowing that someone is better off elsewhere. That someone may be yourself. Maybe you live in an area whose culture and values don’t match yours. Maybe you are in a relationship you don’t want to be in deep down, but don’t quite know how to go about severing.
The Celtics can somewhat empathize with that last point. While there are players under contract for several seasons, maybe there was a premature commitment given out. The worse alternative is time chipping away at the relationship, making an ending the only way to even restore happiness at all.
Either way, there are players on the roster that may actually benefit from being elsewhere. That problem isn’t one exclusive to the C’s. Clearly Brandon Ingram, now an All-Star, was better off away from LeBron James‘ shadow in Los Angeles. Similarly D’Angelo Russell flourished in Brooklyn after languishing in Los Angeles and being made the scapegoat during his first two professional seasons.
Here are the Houdini’s picks for Boston Celtics who may be better off elsewhere:
