The Boston Celtics will have a period of time at the end of June to add roster space to make acquisitions for the end of the regular season. Might they consider these potential second-unit spark plugs?
Boston Celtics fans, the wait is almost over. The NBA is coming back, and since a return to play plan was announced last Thursday by a board of governors, details have trickled down to give us all a better idea of what we can expect before and after the season resumes.
We know that there will be a training camp, but before that–as Adrian Wojnarowski recently announced–there will be a set period of time where teams can sign free agents to fill their roster before the end of the season.
Sources: The NBA's "transaction window" starting around June 22 will include all 30 teams -- not just the 22 returning to play in Orlando. Teams will be allowed to covert two-way players into NBA contracts and sign eligible free agents for the rest of season. https://t.co/IhCtUQRYcb

For contenders like the Boston Celtics, there are plenty of stakes in the eight game regular season return. Given the ambiguous rules regarding what can happen if there is a positive coronavirus test (or even multiple positive tests on one team) perhaps the team could use the transaction window to fortify their roster heading into what could be a grueling postseason.
