Boston Celtics: 2 players who will benefit from facilities reopening
Kemba Walker
Unlike Williams, who could use the time practicing in the team’s facilities to help establish his game to solidify his role on the team moving forward, Kemba Walker simply needs to be back on the hardwood so he can gear up to lead the team this summer when the season resumes and concludes.
Walker had knee injuries that were slowing him down when the season was suspended. The team was getting by on the strength of Jayson Tatum’s meteoric rise this season, while also seeing Marcus Smart step up whenever someone in the starting lineup went down.
To truly qualify as a contender this summer in Orlando, Walker will need to be at the top of his game. Whatever home workouts Walker has been doing in his Charlotte home during quarantine (living with rookie Grant Williams) could only help so much.
Walker needs to be back with his coaches in a controlled environment. As we approach a return to play, these professionals need to approach a return to being able to play. Walker is the franchise point guard, and him regaining his full health will be the key to any title run for banner #18.
