This offseason the Boston Celtics will be strapped for cash, but will still need to fill some holes within their rotation. Who might they be able to nab for a relatively low price?

When one thinks about the 2019-20 campaign for the Boston Celtics, it’s hard not to think of all the successes they achieved.

By the time of the season suspension on March 11th, the team was rolling right along towards their sixth straight playoff appearance. Through 64 games played the shamrocks had accumulated a record of 43-21, ranking them third in the Eastern Conference standings and fifth in the entire association.

Much of their success throughout the year has been due to the overall production put forth by their very talented core group of players. Leading the way for the C’s was their All-Star duo in Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker.

Next in the pecking order, we found the likes of arguable All-Star snub Jaylen Brown, former All-Star & the seemingly resurged Gordon Hayward, and the Swiss Army man/ lockdown defender in Marcus Smart.

This main group of ballers would rival virtually any other team’s within the league as one of the best and, when all of them are firing on all cylinders, the Celtics are an incredibly hard team to beat.

However, with this fact there lies another: the team’s overall rotation is truly a bit lacking. From their bench scoring all the way to their frontcourt depth — mainly at the pivot — Boston struggles in many areas that a true title contender should not.

With this in mind, the team could look at this upcoming offseason — whenever it officially begins — as a way to better position themselves for a stronger chance at attaining championship number 18.

Though strapped for cash, there are still quality options who are slated to hit the open market that Boston could nab at a relatively low cost.
