The Boston Celtics saw an incredible amount of success in 2019-20. This offseason, they could keep the momentum going into next year by adhering to these three specific goals.

Prior to the COVID-19 induced hiatus on March 11th, the Boston Celtics were seen heading into the 2019-20 postseason with momentum well on their side.

Through 64 games, the team accumulated a record of 43-21, ranking them third in the Eastern Conference, fifth in the entire association and, as of March 10th, headed to their sixth straight playoff appearance with a hard fought victory over the Indiana Pacers.

To us at Hardwood Houdini and, frankly, copious other media outlets, Boston is viewed as a serious threat to the top seeded Milwaukee Bucks to represent the East in this year’s NBA Finals — if and when this event takes place. With a core group consisting of the likes of Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward and Marcus Smart, it’s hard to argue the reason why.

However, though the team has found a great deal of success throughout the majority of this year’s campaign, they are still far from being considered a “perfect unit.” Though not always apparent, the roster alone has numerous holes that need to be addressed at some point in the future: backup point guard, front court rotation, bench scoring, etc.

Likely, Danny Ainge will start to shore up the team’s loose ends during this upcoming offseason, and will have numerous potential ways of doing so.

In order to make the most of this offseason, however, and have the Boston Celtics come away as one of the league’s ultimate winners, they should attempt to achieve these three goals.
