The Boston Celtics have three specific players who need to prove themselves in big ways if the NBA season resumes.

The Boston Celtics and the entire NBA world have entered into somewhat uncharted territory. Since March 11th, the league has been put on pause indefinitely due to the global pandemic known as COVID-19.

Because of this, all league activities have been suspended for the foreseeable future, leaving previously scheduled events such as the NBA playoffs on hold until further notice.

This is a real bummer for a team like the C’s who, through 64 games, proved themselves to be a legitimate threat to represent the Eastern Conference in the Finals for the first time in a decade.

By the time of the Coronavirus-induced hiatus Boston had accumulated a record of 43-21. They were ranked as the third seed in the East, fifth in the entire league and, less than 24 hours prior to the suspension, clinched their sixth straight postseason berth.

All things seemed to be trending in the right direction for the team as they inched closer to the “second season.” And now, almost two months removed, here we are: at a stand-still with no end in sight.

However, this does not mean nothing is going on “behind the scenes.” The league’s decision makers are working tirelessly to figure out some sort of plan to have the 2019-20 season return to action at some point in the future, thus giving the Boston Celtics a glimmer of hope that they’ll have the chance to contend for championship number 18.

Prior to the league’s hiatus, we already viewed the dwindling months of the season as super vital for some specific shamrocks to show their worth. If the season ever does wind up coming back, here are the players who will have the most to prove.
